What does your wardrobe look like?

I love FFA for offering me the chance to peek into other peoples’ wardrobes and to find inspiration in new cuts, styles, and colours. Some of you have posted photos of amazing outfits in WAYWT, which makes me wonder what your entire closets look like…

If you use a closet app or if you take photos of each item in your closet, feel free to share! I would love to know how many pieces you have and why you picked this style/theme; which are your favourite pieces and what makes them special; and what challenges you find with your closet and what are your future goals.

Wow, I’m impressed. What app is this that you used?

How easy do you find it to use the app to dream up new outfits? I just started using Stylebook and I’m basically just remaking all of the outfits I normally wear. I’m afraid that the reality is that I’m just not good at styling and I’ll always just look basic af because I can’t muster up an imagination for fashion.

I have one [ikea clothing rack](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/7c/10/c9/7c10c94a100f06d5003cee496581d608.jpg) where I hang all of my clothes, other than coats and pants and underwear. I also like to be able to see everything in one go, for a lot of the same reasons you listed, but I haven’t gotten around to doing a visual closet app because I’m just afraid it’ll take forever, lol.

Here is (part of) [mine](https://imgur.com/a/Z2iJs). I don’t track my entire closet in the app (I’m using SmartCloset), partly because when I can’t find an online image for it I am too lazy to take a picture myself. I wear… pretty much the same colours all the time. A mix of white, grey, navy, black. I veer towards simple cuts because they are easy to coordinate. Overall I love it but it IS getting a little boring. I have been wearing the same style for a few years now and would like to bring a little pizzazz without going too crazy.

I look at my wardrobe and I am most happy these days seeing the pops of blush and taupe so one of my style goals from now is to add lighter tones. I also would like to bring in fun details. I find myself with nothing *special* to wear when I go out for birthday parties, or just a night out, because most of my clothes have simple cuts.

Maybe after we move I can finally get my clothes into a proper wardrobe app. For now though, I keep a [Pinterest](https://www.pinterest.com/megamitenchi/my-style/) for it.

Man this thread really motivates me to finish loading all of my clothes into my mycloset app.

    Thanks for the reminder!

Could I ask how old you are? I’m just curious because I’m 35, and the oldest piece of clothing I own has got to be some t-shirts from middle school in the mid-90s which makes them over 20 years old… this thread makes me feel old! I hope I am not the only old lady clothes hoarder here…!

[hopefully these icons aren’t too small!](https://imgur.com/a/beZgD)

I use stylebook and currently have 90ish items. I’m pretty happy overall with it, but I am envious of a lot of people’s shoe collections! I think I’m set on outerwear and tops but I would like a few more dresses and skirts.

Edit: overall my style is a mix of classic, feminine and edgy and I work in a business casual environment and I think my wardrobe serves me well for that.

I use Style Closet and this is what [I’ve uploaded so far](https://imgur.com/a/CIpKq). This is probably 80% of my total wardrobe. And [this is what my wardrobe looks like on me in real life](https://pin.it/zdhyktgj2m3mjz).

I clearly like black and white, however, I’ve lately been trying to add more brown and tan into my wardrobe.

I would say my style is a mix between bohemian, trendy and feminine. I love a slight 70s or retro flair.

Please, I need to know where you got the white shirt with the black tie. middle row, 5 down. I saw something like it in a store window months and months ago, haven’t been able to get it out of my mind. <3

This thread is making me kind of ashamed of how many clothes I have. I estimate I have nearly 500 items including shoes and accessories. Meanwhile, I’ve been in a job for almost 2 years that requires a strict uniform, so I barely wear any of it…

But this is also inspiration to evaluate and consolidate! I’m in process of putting it alllll into stylebook. Hopefully someday I will have a wardrobe that is as cohesive and chic as the ones posted here!

My wardrobe is a [giant pile of neutral colored knitwear](https://i.imgur.com/Kkp936Q.jpg) and [ankle boots](https://i.imgur.com/6uGDMk3.jpg). I have a [pinterest board](https://www.pinterest.com/ter4gr4m/actual-clothes/) where I pin stock photos of stuff too. I think it’s the majority of things I currently wear, though it’s not 100% comprehensive.

Yay this is perfect timing, I just finished doing inventory of my closet! I’m lazy and couldn’t be bothered to take photos of every single thing, so I did a lot of google searches to get most pictures and took a few pics of the unique items. I also put it together on an Excel sheet because I couldn’t find a phone app I really liked. I’ve colour coded the cells with green = frequently worn, red = rarely worn, and yellow = somewhere in the middle. I’ve also decided to get rid of a few items which I’ve used red text for.

[Long-sleeved tops](https://i.imgur.com/77wqfyD.png) – quite happy with this section! I’ve expanded my sweater collection quite a bit this winter. I have a good chunk of items I wear often. I can tell I really like turtlenecks and baggy sweaters.

[Short-sleeved tops](https://i.imgur.com/6tcwvM0.png) – not so happy with these. They get worn pretty much in the summer only because I’m always cold. I think I’m gonna revamp this section and get some more tops that transition better between seasons – any suggestions?

[Pants](https://i.imgur.com/jwgkWP1.png) – pretty satisfied. Might want a few more loose pants for a change of sillhoutte. Also maybe more colours.

[Skirts](https://i.imgur.com/cHVfyNY.png) – I want more midi skirts! I love the green corduroy but it’s really too big, I should get rid of it.

[Dresses](https://i.imgur.com/zMy93l6.png) – I thought I liked dresses a lot more than I actually do. I like my black witch dress a lot but I find it awkward to match the hemline with anything other than cropped jackets, which I don’t have many of.

[Shoes](https://scontent.fyvr4-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t35.0-12/29894314_10156260380603774_38061526_o.png?_nc_cat=0&oh=1f07c049bdaa868d0f57a5183541b5ad&oe=5AC12846) – I really only wear 3 shoes frequently. Went through an oxfords phase when I was 15 and haven’t really found a way to work them into my wardrobe.

[Outerwear](https://i.imgur.com/1KKJaoE.png) – really wanna work on this section but coats are expensive! I got my first non-parka winter coat recently though (the red duffle coat), very exciting.

I have 2 empty tabs for gym clothes and business clothes that I’m gonna slowly work on filling up too.

I have quite a few items I love but don’t wear often, like the anime eyes shirt and the embroidered maxi. I want to work on getting rid of the stuff I don’t love and don’t wear often. I realized I have a LOT of black and I think I’d like to branch out a bit more with colour, but still with a cohesive palette. Having all my items laid out together helps me see what colours go well and what would be too hard to match.

I have SO MANY CLOTHES and I wear the same six. I’ve been trying to use an online/app to track my stuff while cycling out what I don’t wear. Love your style, it’s definitely what I’m aiming for with a lot of my improving closet.

i didn’t know closet apps were a thing! but i love the concept so i spent an hour or so today making mine. (of the stuff i wear the most at least!) here is mine, i’m worried the pictures are too small though ☹️: https://imgur.com/a/XOUxB (can you tell where i worked part time in undergrad lol?)

i’ve struggled a bit with my wardrobe lately, i really love the majority of my pieces but idk if my closet is very cohesive? i bought a fair number of them in high school and lately i’ve been drawn to a more mature, put together vibe rather than the more casual stuff i liked when i was younger. i also definitely need to pick up some more Professional stuff – i have a few pairs of slacks and suits (not pictured since i rarely wear them) but i’m a grad student doing lab work most of the time so i can afford to dress more casually. i also really prefer to wear dresses and skirts but i’m forced into long pants and close-toed shoes every day, which is pretty uninspiring for me at least. also, i LOVE all of my jeans but they feel boring to wear most of the time outfit-wise, if that makes sense? idk it just feels so basic and i really want to work on incorporating them into solid Outfits.

also hmm i don’t really accessorize much. i have a couple of belts that i wear very rarely, scarves/capes for when it’s REALLY cold, and then a core set of jewelry (necklace, earrings, watch, and rings) that i wear every single day. i just don’t put that much thought into it i guess? but maybe that would help freshen things up. i kinda hate wearing costume jewelry though, i’m always anxious that i’ll break something or wear the plating off or something, idk.

anyway i’m hoping this app will help me incorporate more of the stuff i’ve been neglecting 🙂 wooo exciting!

I’ve become a bit obsessed with Stylebook! [Here’s all my stuff!](https://imgur.com/a/5NtdR)

As you can see, I should stop buying pink trench jackets (but probably won’t) and have a real addiction to costume jewelry.

Such an interesting topic. I keep a pinterest board of my wardrobe [here](https://www.pinterest.dk/beebeelw/whats-already-in-my-wardrobe/?eq=what%27s%20al&etslf=3573). According to that I have just around 140 pieces. In reality I use maybe 60 pieces on a semi-regular basis. Kind of horrible to think about.

I wouldn’t say that I deliberately chose a specific style, but I guess my style is sort of simple, femine, flirty, french-ish. I wear a lot of semi-statementy dresses, ankle boots, and cropped jackets (leather, denim). I’ve noticed that I feel the best when wearing a dress, so my goal at the moment is to limit my purchases of seperates.

My favourite pieces are flowy, frilly floral dresses, especially midi length, but since I will be done studying soon I need to start being more practical about my dress preferences, as I can see that I prefer more simple knee-length dresses for work.

[Link to my closet Pinterest board](https://www.pinterest.ca/paintbykittens/closet/)

I have 200+ pieces — 186 of them on the board. I’m missing some items which are currently stored in bins and I haven’t worn in at least a few years. I need to pull some of that out and reassess, since I’ve lost about 30 pounds.

I work for a game development company, so my style is super-casual and nerdy. My hair has been blue, teal, green, pink, coral, peach, and is now currently mauve, so I try to keep my wardrobe pretty neutral in colour.

    I’ll add my thoughts here!

I have just over 100 items, including outerwear and shoes, and I think my oldest piece is about 3 years old. I think I’ve got a very business caz look, with some feminine items mixed in. I work in a pretty dressy environment and don’t want to have two separate wardrobes, so I try to find items that can do double duty. I do still buy multiples (it’s a bad habit) – but I have the hardest time mixing and matching clothes, so having the same sweater in two colours makes early mornings just a bit easier.

I wear my black turtleneck and white t-shirt almost every other day. And I love my black floral maxi dress! I’m just looking for more ways (and reasons) to wear it. I also recently transitioned into a much lighter palette – and sadly I feel like my closet’s a little *blah*. Hoping that a little summer shopping adds some much needed pattern and colour!

Very late to the party (might not even get seen!) but I’ve been working on finding stock photos for my *exact* wardrobe items for Pinterest boards, and anything I don’t have a stock photo of, I’ll take my own pics and edit and then upload.
So far I’ve got Winter, Spring, and Summer (fall is unsure and will likely be a mix of Spring and Winter stuff), and accessories, plus [inspo boards](https://www.pinterest.com/naokel79/overall-style-inspiration/)

All the items there are the *exact* items in my closet. I seem to have done a recent closet overhaul I wasn’t aware of and gotten rid of a lot of one of a kind thrifted items in favor of some more mainstream stuff, as well as started work at a higher end retail clothing store [my work clothes which I only wear to work here](https://imgur.com/SZkPBj2), so my “look” has changed recently.

This project of tracking down and pinning everything I own is still ongoing for jewelry, as almost all my jewelry is custom, vintage, or oddball secondhand stuff. So that I’m photographing in sets and uploading slowly. 🙂
